I'm on my way through Wigan's list* and following yesterday's Hieronymous Bosch is painter and printmaker, Pieter Brueghel the Elder.
His keen observations of common life are really interesting, and I plan to learn something from his warm, rich colour palette. My favourite painting is 'Netherlandish Proverbs', a sort of 'What People Do All Day' for the 16th Century.

'The Garden of Earthly Delights' is the Bosch I'm most familiar with - here's a section from the bottom right panel of the triptych, and a resin figurine which looks strangely contemporary, given the design has been lifted from a 500 year old painting.
